I am still in love my ex-wife and I am still heartbroken over our divorce. I was a workaholic who barely had time for my wife and daughter. My daughter had me wrapped around her finger since she came out of the womb. She knows I love her and she never held the fact that I worked a lot against me. My wife divorced me and married some younger man. I’m 53, my ex-wife is 44, my daughter is 21 and my wife’s new husband is 29. My daughter has a lot of resentment towards my wife for breaking my heart and leaving me. She refuses to let me accept the blame for our marriage falling apart. But I will do whatever it takes to show this woman that I love her and I can be good to her. I’m probably the most permissive dad in the world. My daughter always felt free to talk to me about sex, boys etc. and all I did was advise her to use protection as opposed to acting like a dictator. My daughter is my best friend and she stayed with me when her mother left. My daughter visited her mom and her mom’s husband over the weekend and she told me that she has a crush on him and she believes the feeling is mutual. She advises me to just find someone else but I can’t. I’m still in love with her mother. If her precious, young handsome manchild husband is sooo perfect, we’ll just see how perfect he really is if/when he starts sleeping with my daughter. My daughter is very angry at her mom so she doesn’t really care if they ever have a relationship again or not, but I DO want my wife back. Is this a terrible idea or do you understand what I’m saying?
