On and off for a year and a half I was dating this guy, but we were not exclusive. While I thought things were progressing toward a committed relationship, he was seeing someone else. Last summer the girl found out about me and gave him an ultimatum. He stopped seeing me and committed himself to her.

Though it was not a bad breakup and we parted on good terms, I was heartbroken because I loved him. We have been apart for six months and have talked from time to time but when we did his girlfriend found out and would call me and threaten me. She also would scream at him and start a fight. Out of respect for him, I decided to stop calling.

A few days ago he called me out of the blue after six months and confessed that he wants out of his relationship because his girlfriend is jealous and controlling. He said he has never cheated on her since he decided to commit to her this summer. I believe him. We talked on the phone for a while and he came over to talk–We only talked and he was hinting that he wanted more.

Should I take back this guy that broke my heart?
